Spring Cleaning!!! - Spring 2016

We're looking for designs that fit these themes for our Spring 2016 issue:

Theme: scrub

Anything used to clean. Towels, rags, scrubbies, mop covers, dusters. Using your roving to dust off the TV doesn't count.

Theme: organize

Have you made stuff to put other stuff in? We want it! Bins, bowls, cubbies, storage items.

One Skein - Summer 2016

We're looking for designs that fit these themes for our Summer 2016 issue:

Theme: barely there

One skein doesn't lend itself to large pieces of clothing. So make something tiny. Panties, bras, shorts, tank tops, beanies, bikinis.

Theme: home stuffs

You got a skein of yarn. What are you gonna do with it? Pillows, coasters, antimacassars, napkins, placemats, rugs (if you have a mighty large skein of chunky yarn. No cheating!)

If you are interested in designing any of these items, please contact us at submissions@chicagoknitsmag.com.

Quick and Dirty Submission Guidelines:

  1. Come up with a great pattern idea that you think should be featured in Chicago Knits Magazine.
  2. Sketch it out, figure out how much and what type of yarn (please give us three different manufacurers), and sizing, using our submission guidelines.
  3. Send it to us for approval.
  4. If we approve it:
    1. We will agree on a price for your submission.
    2. You sign a contract.
    3. You make a sample of the project.
    4. Send us the sample and the final edited pattern.
  5. We publish your design.
